Popular Nigerian singer, Mohbad died in September 2023 and his death sparked outrage across Nigeria, with fans, celebrities, and activists demanding accountability under the viral #JusticeForMohbad movement. And during investigation process, many Nigerians have continued to question the process as they believed investigations were not done properly and thoroughly.
Now, the case is back in the spotlight. The Federal High Court of Nigeria in Abuja has scheduled May 28, 2026, to hear a suit filed by the Break the Silence Foundation, calling for a fresh and more thorough probe. The group is asking the court to compel the Nigeria Police Force to reopen the investigation and ensure that all individuals connected to the late singer’s final moments are properly questioned. This development reflects the ongoing dissatisfaction among many Nigerians who believe the case has not been fully resolved.
With the court date now set, the public will know whether the case surrounding Mohbad’s death will be reopened and given a new investigative direction. And with this, hopefully Justice May Finally Be Served
